Côte de Beaune

Côte de Beaune

Côte de Beaune is the southern half of the Côte d'Or and the heart of Burgundy's greatest white wines. While the region also produces elegant Pinot Noir, it is Chardonnay that has made villages such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault legendary among wine lovers. Limestone-rich soils, gentle eastern slopes and a cool continental climate combine to create wines of remarkable balance, where richness is matched by freshness, minerality and exceptional ageing potential.

Each village expresses a distinct interpretation of Chardonnay. Puligny-Montrachet is celebrated for its precision, tension and refined chalky minerality. Chassagne-Montrachet produces broader, more textured wines with greater richness while maintaining excellent freshness. Meursault is renowned for its generous texture, ripe orchard fruit and characteristic notes of hazelnut and butter that develop with age. Saint-Aubin, situated higher on the slopes, offers vibrant acidity and mineral-driven wines that often rival its famous neighbours. Auxey-Duresses combines freshness with elegant fruit, while Blagny, perched above Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, produces both structured whites and refined Pinot Noir from elevated limestone vineyards. Santenay, at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, is increasingly recognised for both expressive Chardonnay and finely structured Pinot Noir.

Our collection showcases these villages through some of Burgundy's most respected family domaines. Joseph Colin focuses on the exceptional terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin, producing highly precise, mineral-driven Chardonnays that have quickly established him as one of Burgundy's leading new-generation winemakers. Domaine Joseph Pascal brings generations of expertise through its wines from Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault, Blagny Premier Cru and Crémant de Bourgogne, combining classic Burgundian elegance with remarkable consistency. Camille & Guillaume Boillot represent the new generation of Burgundian producers with expressive wines from Saint-Romain, Meursault and Bourgogne Côte d'Or, emphasising purity, freshness and site expression. Domaine de la Vougeraie, one of Burgundy's leading biodynamic estates, complements the collection with wines that showcase the diversity and individuality of the Côte de Beaune's historic vineyards.

Together, these producers demonstrate why Côte de Beaune remains the global benchmark for Chardonnay. From regional Bourgogne to village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, each bottle reflects the subtle differences of Burgundy's terroir, proving that even neighbouring vineyards can produce remarkably different expressions of the same grape variety.
