Domaine Bertrand Bachelet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Morgeot' 2024

Style:
A rich and structured white Burgundy, combining power with balance and elegance. Generous and complex, with classic depth and aging potential.

Vineyard:
Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the Premier Cru “Morgeot,” on clay-limestone soils. This site is known for producing broader, more powerful wines while retaining balance and minerality.

Winery:
Hand-harvested grapes, whole-bunch pressed and fermented with native yeasts. Aged in French oak barrels (partially new) with lees contact, enhancing texture, complexity, and integration.

Nose/Palate:

Ripe orchard fruit, citrus, butter, toasted nuts, and subtle spice on the nose, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate with a creamy rounded texture balanced by fresh acidity, ripe fruit, hazelnut and light oak flavors, and a long, rich, elegant finish.

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet

Domaine Bertrand Bachelet is a small, family-run estate in the southern Côte de Beaune, rooted in four generations of Burgundian winemaking. Based in Dezize-lès-Maranges, the domaine is led by Bertrand Bachelet, who took over from his father in 2011 and now farms around 13 hectares across appellations from Maranges to Pommard.

Focused on elevating the lesser-known Maranges region, Bertrand works with a deep respect for tradition while refining a precise, terroir-driven style. The vineyards are farmed sustainably, with attention to old vines and careful parcel selection to capture the character of each site.

In the cellar, the approach is classic and restrained, aiming for balance, purity, and expression rather than heavy intervention. The wines - primarily Pinot Noir alongside Chardonnay - are known for their elegance, freshness, and honest reflection of the Côte de Beaune.

Production remains relatively small, with a focus on quality and authenticity, making Domaine Bertrand Bachelet a quietly rising name for those seeking elegant, terroir-focused Burgundy beyond the spotlight.
