Red

Red

Red Burgundy is the world's purest expression of Pinot Noir. Rather than relying on extraction or oak, Burgundy allows each vineyard to speak through its soils, elevation and exposure. The result is a remarkable spectrum of wines—from vibrant regional bottlings to some of the world's most collectible Grand Crus—all crafted from a single grape variety.

Bourgogne Côte d'Or represents the ideal introduction to Burgundian Pinot Noir. Produced exclusively from vineyards within the Côte d'Or, these wines offer bright red cherry, raspberry and floral aromatics with silky tannins and vibrant acidity, capturing the elegance that defines Burgundy. Camille & Guillaume Boillot presents this style with exceptional purity and precision.

Domaine de la Vougeraie's Bourgogne Pinot Noir Terres de Famille takes the regional category a step further. Produced biodynamically from a selection of vineyards across both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, it reflects the domaine's philosophy of expressing terroir even at the appellation level. The wine combines vibrant red fruit, floral notes and subtle spice with greater structure and mineral depth than is typically expected from Bourgogne Pinot Noir, making it one of the benchmarks of the appellation.

Volnay is widely regarded as the most elegant red appellation of the Côte de Beaune. Its limestone-rich slopes produce Pinot Noir perfumed with rose petals, wild strawberries and red cherries, supported by exceptionally fine tannins and remarkable finesse. Premier Cru vineyards such as Champans add further depth and ageing potential while preserving Volnay's unmistakable delicacy.

Blagny, located on the cooler slopes above Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, produces Pinot Noir with vibrant acidity, floral lift and pronounced mineral character. The higher elevation creates wines of precision and energy, offering a restrained and elegant interpretation of Burgundy.

Further south, Maranges delivers a slightly fuller style. Clay-limestone soils produce darker fruit, subtle spice and firmer structure while maintaining the balance and freshness expected from Pinot Noir.

In the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin introduces greater concentration and structure. Limestone mixed with deeper clay soils produces wines with black cherry, forest floor and spice, supported by refined tannins and outstanding ageing potential.

At the summit of Burgundy's hierarchy stands Corton Grand Cru—the only Grand Cru appellation in the Côte de Beaune dedicated predominantly to red wine. Domaine de la Vougeraie's Corton Grand Cru Le Clos du Roi comes from one of Corton's most historic climats, producing Pinot Noir of extraordinary depth, complexity and longevity, where powerful structure is balanced by remarkable elegance and mineral precision.

Together, Camille & Guillaume Boillot, Domaine Bertrand Bachelet, Domaine de la Vougeraie and Joseph Pascal demonstrate the remarkable diversity of Red Burgundy. From approachable regional wines and village appellations to Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards, each bottle reveals a different expression of Pinot Noir, shaped by geology, climate and generations of Burgundian winemaking tradition.
