Rosé Champagne is one of the most expressive styles in the region, combining the freshness and elegance of traditional Champagne with the delicate fruit character of Pinot Noir. Unlike most rosé wines, Champagne Rosé is commonly produced by blending a small proportion of still red Pinot Noir into white Champagne—a technique permitted almost exclusively in Champagne. Some producers also use the saignée method, where brief skin contact naturally extracts colour, texture and aromatics.
Rosé Champagne is defined by vibrant acidity, fine mousse and aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, red currant, blood orange and rose petals. With extended lees ageing, the wines develop layers of brioche, pastry and subtle spice while maintaining remarkable freshness. The style is equally suited as an aperitif or paired with seafood, poultry, tuna, duck and berry-based desserts.
Our collection showcases three distinctive grower interpretations of Rosé Champagne. Aurore Casanova crafts an elegant, terroir-driven Rosé focused on purity, finesse and vibrant fruit. Robert Moncuit's Les Romarines Grand Cru blends approximately 92% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyards of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger with 8% still Pinot Noir from Bouzy Grand Cru, combining the chalky precision of the Côte des Blancs with the depth and red fruit character of one of Champagne's greatest Pinot Noir villages. Girard-Bonnet takes a unique approach by producing Recueil Extrait No.3 Rosé exclusively from Meunier, offering a distinctive expression with remarkable freshness, vibrant red fruit and an uncommon perspective on Rosé Champagne.
Together, these grower Champagnes demonstrate that Rosé is far more than a celebratory style. In the hands of small, terroir-focused producers, Rosé Champagne becomes a wine of precision, gastronomic versatility and remarkable individuality, expressing the diversity of Champagne through each producer's unique philosophy.
