Montagne de Reims

Montagne de Reims

Montagne de Reims is one of Champagne's most prestigious subregions, situated between Reims and Épernay. Although its name suggests mountainous terrain, it is in fact a broad forested plateau surrounded by gently sloping vineyards. The region is renowned for its chalk-rich soils and is considered the spiritual home of Pinot Noir, producing wines with exceptional structure, depth and ageing potential while preserving Champagne's hallmark freshness.

The subregion is home to many of Champagne's finest Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages, including Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly-Champagne, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Puisieulx. While Pinot Noir dominates, Chardonnay also excels in villages such as Villers-Marmery and Trépail, demonstrating the remarkable diversity of Montagne de Reims.

Our collection highlights the region through a new generation of grower-producers. Aurore Casanova works with exceptional vineyards, including Grand Cru Puisieulx, crafting elegant, terroir-driven Champagnes that combine precision with depth. Benjamin Petit focuses on estate-grown fruit and meticulous vineyard work, producing vintage Champagnes that faithfully express both the character of Pinot Noir and the individuality of each harvest. A. Lamblot represents one of Champagne's most exciting emerging domaines, producing small-production, low-intervention wines that explore the complexity of Montagne de Reims through single vineyards, perpetual reserves and carefully crafted blends.

Together, these growers demonstrate why Montagne de Reims remains one of Champagne's defining terroirs. Here, Pinot Noir achieves its finest balance of power and elegance, while the region's chalk soils and village diversity allow each producer to reveal a unique expression of place through authentic, grower-crafted Champagne.
