Vineyard:


Located in the Douro Valley, sourced from vineyards planted on schist soils. Cooler sites help preserve acidity and enhance aromatic intensity, resulting in a bright and expressive style.

Winery:


Hand-harvested grapes, whole-bunch pressed and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel. Minimal intervention to preserve freshness, with short lees aging for added texture.

Nose/Palate:

White flowers, citrus, green apple, and subtle herbal notes on the nose, followed by a light to medium-bodied palate with vibrant acidity, a crisp clean profile, citrus and orchard fruit flavors, and a fresh, dry, refreshing finish.

Maçanita Vinhos is a dynamic, family-driven project founded by siblings António Maçanita and Joana Maçanita, uniting their shared vision of exploring Portugal’s diverse terroirs. Launched in 2011, the winery focuses primarily on the Douro Valley, working with old vineyards and a wide range of indigenous grape varieties.

Their approach combines deep respect for tradition with a spirit of experimentation, highlighting field blends, high-altitude sites, and the unique character of each parcel. In the cellar, intervention is kept to a minimum, allowing the wines to express purity, balance, and regional identity.
