Girard-Bonnet A Mi-Chemin Chardonnay Grand Cru

Style:
A precise and mineral-driven Blanc de Blancs Champagne, combining tension with elegance and subtle richness. Refined and expressive, with a pure and terroir-focused profile.

Vineyard:
Located in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, in the Côte des Blancs. Sourced from Grand Cru Chardonnay vineyards on clay-limestone soils over Campanian chalk, providing pronounced minerality, salinity, and precision.

Winery:
Hand-harvested grapes, fermented with wild yeasts in a combination of French oak barrels (60%) and stainless steel tanks (40%). Aged on lees to enhance texture and complexity while preserving freshness and purity.

Production:
Non-vintage cuvée composed of 70% 2023 harvest and 30% reserve wines. Disgorged on 8 December 2025. Extra Brut with 1.5 g/L dosage.

Nose:
Lemon zest, citrus, white flowers, chalk, and subtle brioche notes.

Palate:
Medium-bodied, with fine, persistent bubbles and vibrant acidity. Citrus and mineral notes dominate, supported by a delicate texture and light creaminess, leading to a long, precise, and elegant finish.

Girard-Bonnet

Girard-Bonnet is an emerging grower-producer in the Côte des Blancs, crafting highly limited Champagnes from just 12 hectares of Grand and Premier Cru vineyards.

Founded by young vigneron Paul Girard (born 1995) - connecting his father, Philippe Girard’s holdings in Les Mesnil, and his mother, Dominique Bonnet’s holdings in Oger - the estate represents a new generation focused on organic and biodynamic farming, with certification achieved in 2022 and ongoing Demeter conversion.

Producing only around 10–20,000 bottles annually, the wines are rare, precise expressions of 100% Chardonnay from prestigious sites like Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger. Paul’s hands-on, low-intervention approach - using natural fermentations and extended lees aging - highlights purity, texture, and terroir.

This is a fresh, forward-thinking Champagne house, rapidly gaining attention for its authenticity and small-scale craftsmanship.
